White Elephant Gift Exchange

There were many fun and interesting gifts exchanged, but there is not enough time to mention them all, so here are a couple favorites that got picked.
Grandpa (with Sammie next to him) got lucky and now has matching Princess Diana vases.

Grandma Anderson got the best gift of all!

Greenfield Village Nights (not lights!)

Okay so my parents, Aaron, Emiley, Katie, Johannes (sis's bf), Levi and I all went to Greenfield Village expecting to go walk the grounds and see all the Christmas lights and decorations. LOL, it wasn't like that at all, the event was for people to come and experience Greenfield Village back in the day. So we were there in the freezing cold and it wasn't what we expected, but it was nice to go out for an evening and enjoy spending time together.

Canterberry Village

Daddy and Kaitlin

Kaitlin loves to shop!

Grandpa, Kaitlin, and Grandma

Levi, Kaitlin, my parents, and I all went to Canterberry Village, which is kindof like Frankenmuth. The village has one huge Christmas store and then a bunch of small shops outside around the big one. It's pretty neat to go at night and see all the Christmas lights. Kaitlin enjoyed all the sights, so we'll definitely take her back next year.

Two Anderson's Graduate (or at least one thinks so)!!!

This weekend my parents, my brother's family, and us went to see my sister graduate from Concordia University in Wisconsin. I'm so gald we were able to be there for Katie as she spent her last couple days in Wisconsin. We are all so very proud of her! And we are also very proud of my Dad who graduated from Macomb Community College. His gradution was on the same day as Katie's so it was great being able to be with both of them on such a special day.

Visit To See Santa

Okay so as you can tell our visit to see santa wasn't very good, but everything before and after was. While we were in line Kaitlin danced away with rudolph, but as soon as we got close to santa I could tell it wasn't going to work. The lady in the picture insisted I back away and let her try to get Kaitlin's attention, but it didn't work. I ended up sitting next to santa with Kaitlin on my lap and I asked him to start reading the book that he had, which worked as long as I kept her on my lap (yeah I tried to squeeze out, but she wouldn't have it). I wish I could post the picture I bought on here cuz it's really cute. It's of the three of us and looking at the book and Kaitlin has her index finger on her cheek as if she's really pondering something.
After our visit to santa Kaitlin and I went with my friend Jana and her little boy Jaxon (he's a couple weeks younger than Kaitlin) to the carousel. (Yeah Jaxon got his picture with santa as well and lets just say his reaction was the opposite from Kaitlins!) Kaitlin wouldn't sit on any of the animals at first so instead she danced on our seat while riding the carousel.

Heat Duck

So apprentely this heat duck in the pictures in a popular spot to hang out at. Buster and Peanut claim this as their spot every winter, and now Kaitlin has too! Of course it's the most inconvenient place possible, but what can you do? Apparently we keep our house to cold. The only one who hasn't figured it out yet is Annie. Maybe when we get to the point of having all four of them sitting their we will turn up the heat!

Thanksgiving in Virginia

Well we did it! We went to be with part of Levi's side of the family in Virginia. The drive was very, very long (about 12 hours), but very worth it. Unfortunately Kaitlin ended up very sick on the way down there and stayed sick the whole trip. We ended up taking her to see the Brown's family doctor and found out she had an ear infection. My poor baby! She was sooo miserable. But she was really a trooper given we were away from home, and she did have moments here and there where she had some fun. All this aside we really didn't want to come home. Virginia was beautiful and we loved being with family. We didn't take all three dogs with us because we knew it'd be to much and just to crazy, so we only took Annie with us. And of course she loved it there. I think it was pure heaven for her. I'm surprised we were able to get her in the mini van to come home! Well it's late so when I get some more time I will add the rest of the pictures I took from our trip.

Decorating for CHRISTmas

This past Sunday we pulled out the Christmas tree and began decorating. We usually don't do this until Thanksgiving weekend, but we are going to be in Virginia this year, so I wanted to do it early.
Kaitlin had a lot of fun decorating the tree. I was hanging an ornament on the tree and when I turned around I saw that Kaitlin had taken a little stuffed penguin ornament and placed it on the tree. I couldn't believe it. I hadn't even shown her how to do this and yet she did it all by herself. I told her good job and she looked up at me with a big smile and started clapping her hands. Ahh it was just precious! So needless to say we had fun.
Kaitlin also had fun taking all of the boxes out of the container after Mommy kept putting them away! So it took us awhile to clean up!

Kaitlin at 15 months and one day!

Yesterday our little bumkin turned 15 months old! Levi and I cannot believe how fast she is growing. I took a few pictures of her today while she kept moving her piano seat around the living room to different spots and sitting on it. She was so proud of herself for being able to back up to the seat and sit down. It was so much fun to watch her. As we were just looking through the pictures and deciding which one to use we couldn't get over how old she looks! She is no longer our little baby:( So needless to say we will need some grieving time to get used to the fact that she truly is a toddler (and sooner than we know it she'll be off to school.) Yikes!

Hello and welcome to the Haight family blog. Since we have so many family and friends who are not local I thought it was time I started a place for everyone to come and view pictures of our ever growing family! So enjoy and visit as often as you'd like. I'll do my best to keep adding more pictures and updates about our family each month.

Our Family

Levi and Kristin
This is Kaitlin our almost 15month old daughter.
This is Annie, she is a lab/pointer mix. She was on death row at a local shelter and we couldn't let it happen, so we adopted her (Thank you Mom O for all your help!).
This is Peanut and Buster our Jack Russell Terriers who we have had since they were puppies.
