Congratulations to Misty!!!

Hey Misty, we just wanted to give a shout out to ya and say congratulations on graduating with your high school diploma. We're so proud of you! And what's even more impressive is that you're already going after your college degree while working full-time and raising a family. Way to go!

Poll Probems

Well for some reason the last poll I added about Katie and Johannes apparently hasn't been loading correctly and I'm not sure why. So I might just remove it all together. The poll's invalid anyway, since those who would have started the toliet papering(Aaron, Levi and I) have all went in on a wedding gift of putting Katie and Johannes up in a lodge for their wedding night. We're definitely missing out on some fun, but maybe we're saving ourselves from some trouble as well! Well at least two of us won't be getting in trouble. I'm sure the third party will find some way of creating some sort of wedding memory for the bride and groom. I mean why break tradition when you've done something at every wedding you've been to so far!?!?! - LOL, Love ya Aaron, but it's true! I mean come on don't you remember pitching the camera man's butt at my wedding???

Friday

Oh my goodness there is so much to do! I'm literally writing this to avoid packing! Sad I know, I should be excited, which I am, but packing...ugh! My parents are leaving for Idaho very early tomorrow morning and they are in the mist of last minute packing, so I guess I'm not alone. We head out to my parents house late tomorrow night. Then Sunday we have our dogs met their babysitters and then we get to go to the Fourth of July freedom service at my parents church, which is always fun. So this gives us Monday and Tuesday to pack everything in my parents van and get anything we forget to bring. Ugh, so more packing! Okay well say some prayer for us, we're excited and nervous about the drive with the kids.

Weekend Devotion by Pastor Greg Laurie

So I thought this Harvest devotion was really good, and one that hit home to me, especially since I'm a stay at home mom. So I just wanted to share it with you. If you're interested in receiving them go to harvest.org
I have heard it said, "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God, I will do."One godly man or woman can make a dramatic difference, even in the darkest of circumstances. Jesus put it this way:
"You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:13 NLT) Our Lord is telling us that we, like salt, should make a difference in the situations we are in. Just as a little salt can either improve or worsen the flavor of something, a little influence can go a long way.You might be the only Christian in your family . . . or the only Christian in your workplace . . . or the only Christian in your classroom . . . or the only Christian in your neighborhood. In fact, you may be trying to get out of an uncomfortable situation in which you find yourself. But you may have been put there by the Lord to be an influence and, in a godly way, to move people in the right direction. God can do a lot with a little. We have heard of people like Dr. Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International; and D. L. Moody, the great evangelist of his time; and of course, Billy Graham. But have you ever heard of Edward Kimball or Henrietta Mears?Without Edward Kimball, there never would have been a D. L. Moody. Kimball was a shoe salesman. He worked at a shoe store in Chicago and felt led by the Lord to share the gospel with young Dwight, a fellow salesman.
Dwight responded to the message, gave his heart to Jesus Christ, and ultimately went on to be the greatest evangelist of his generation. It was because of Edward Kimball's faithfulness to share the gospel that the Lord reached D. L. Moody, who in turn reached millions. What about Henrietta Mears? In 1928, she was called to teach a Sunday school class at the First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood. Under her direction, the class grew from 400 to 4,000. She later went on to found Gospel Light Publishing and Forest Home Christian Conference Center in Southern California. Of the people she influenced, 400 went into full-time Christian service. Among them were Bill Bright and Billy Graham. It is the power of one. Our lives can make a difference. In Ezekiel 22:30 God says, "I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn't have to destroy the land, but I found no one" (NLT).God is looking for that one who can make his or her mark. You may be the only Christian whom some people will ever know. The fact is that God can do a lot with a little. If you don't believe me, just ask that boy who was willing to share his lunch one day and saw Jesus feed 5,000 people, plus women and children, with his little meal. Or spend some time in the Book of Exodus, where you'll find the story of one man who lived such a godly life that, for all practical purposes, he kept two-and-a-half million people from turning to full-tilt idolatry. His name was Moses.God is just looking for one—someone like you, someone like me. Will you be that one person? We all would love to be a Billy Graham, D. L. Moody, or Bill Bright. Maybe you will be. But would you be willing to at least be an Edward Kimball or a Henrietta Mears?Would you be willing to do what you can, where you are, with the influence that God has given you? Never underestimate the power of one.

Count Down Begins!

Well in two weeks from today we'll have been on the road since Tuesday evening. I can't believe how fast my sister's wedding is approaching. I keep thinking I have plenty of time to pack and get things ready, but packing two kids for a two week road trip takes time, so apparently I better get started. It seemed like the wedding/vacation would never get here, but it's coming! I'm excited and a bit nervous about how the kids will do in the car for such a long trip. Please keep us all in your prayers. It will be Levi, the kids and I, plus my brother and his daughter.

Our Noise Machine

We usually don't have to encourage Malachi to make noise, but when you stick a camera infront of him he gets quite and curious. So I had to help him a bit to get him going.

Malachi is six months old!

Here's my happy little man. He's been working on sitting for the last few weeks, and everyday he gets better at it.
It's crazy how fast the last six months have gone. With Kaitlin time just seemed to move slowly. She was our first child and everything new that she would do would get tons of attention. Now with Mal things are still a big deal, but it's also kind of like "yep that's suppose to happen." So everything just seems to come and go so much faster, which I think also has a lot to do with the fact that Mal is our second child. Well whatever it is that is truly making this time around go faster, I still want to celebrate and share, and log it into my memory forever.
