Scary Cinderella

In an effort to have a mommy-daughter date I searched for musicals and plays that would be of interest to Kaitlin. I was excited when I had found Cinderella, and so was she. Unfortunately no one told me that it was Cinderella with scary puppets. Yes I did see that it was the Grand Rapids Symphony with the Enchantment Theatre, but no one ever mentioned puppets being involved to me or many other parents who showed up with their daughters all dressed up and excited to see Cinderella. When the play started I kept waiting for the beautiful Cinderella to come out from behind the mask, so that Kaitlin could stop asking where Cinderella was at. And of course it never happened. They had some actors with masks on that were white and faceless and then other people dressed in black carrying around puppets. The whole thing was scary to me and I know it was confusing to Kaitlin. I mean the scene with Cinderella dancing with the Prince had three people involved due to one being a puppet being held by someone dressed in black. Poor Kaitlin! She kept saying how scary it was and I'm sure everyone heard her asking the same question over and over again "Where's Cinderella?" Needless to say this mommy-daughter date was not successful as the previous year when we went and saw Beauty and The Beast at the Van Singel Fine Arts Center. Well let's just say that next time around I'm going to be very careful to find out more about the play/musical I decide to take Kaitlin to, and I won't be promising any pictures with the princess until I see what she looks like!

Visit with Family

Grandma and Malachi

Nana and Malachi

Okay so I know boys shouldn't be wearing bows, but he was having fun. And even if it is a bow at least he is already showing how confident in himself he is...besides he's just so darn cute!

So my brother has had this thing with Katilin that all he has to do is look at her and she'll fall in line and listen to him, or like in this picture she'll cry. Sometimes Bubba gets to be a bit to much, but Mommy sure does enjoy not having to argue with her when he's around.

Malachi and Kaitlin love climbing on anyone who will let them.

Goodbye Visit

Aunt Katie and Uncle Johannes stopped by for an overnight visit before heading to Idaho. Kaitlin enjoyed getting to stay up late and play with them, even if they were frustrating her with what they put in the doll house, and let's not forget the interesting bedtime story!
